This "MUD" version (Multi User Dungeons - computer-net fantasy games) is NOT a TG-reader like all the others. Therefor you only can read a short reference here - if you're interested, contact the author Felix Buebl at s_buebl@rzmain.rz.uni-ulm.de Short Description: It's a guild-like item. If you write articles, you get special powers (e.g. spells). Many articles are written by players - only a few articles are taken from the TG-library. Mostly these player-articles cover MUD-dependend stuff like "how to solve this quest" or "where to find a good weapon". To to player it look like the "mark II" Guide (the bird). Long description: (you can cut this if you want) If you write an article for this guide, you become an "editor". There are three different classes of editors, each of them with special powers. APPRENTICE EDITOR (after the first article) * From now on you can teleport to Milliways. Milliways is the Restaurant At The End Of The Universe. The command therefore is "milliways". It costs 30 Spellpoints. This command will be replaced someday with a "infinite improbabiliy drive" function! FULL EDITOR (with the 3rd article) * Now you are a full member of the Guide-crew. You will get a title. A "Title" is the thing everybody reads before your name. E.g. if "guest" gets the title "Mr. ", than he'll be "Mr. Guest" from now on. Your title will be "Frood ". * Now your guide will be able to "remember" a room - just type "gsave" in a room, e.g. in a cave. From now on you can teleport back to this room by typing "gjump". Up to now it doesn't work correct with dynamic mazes. "gsave" costs 30 Spellpoints, "gjump" costs 20. This service is not unique anymore, because the DragonRiders Guild offers a similar one now. But the guide stores the room (until you gsave another room) forever. * You can give adjectives to things with "gad". E.g. if you meet "Wowbagger", you can "gad wowbagger froopy", and from now on this monster will be called "wowbagger (froopy)". If you "gad wowbagger waiting for deepthought", it will change to "wowbagger (waiting for deepthought)". It costs 2 Spellpoints. ADVANCED EDITOR (with the 5th article) * You can "gsearch" for a player - you'll get detailed information about this player - e.g the short-description of the room he is in (if he's online). Or how many other players this player killed (if he killed anyone). And much more usefull stuff. If the player is offline, you'll see how long he's been offline. This service is free. * You can invoke a walking chest for 40 spellpoints. This walking chest can store some things for you and will follow you wherever you go. But don't put valuable items in it - The Chest is keen on treasure. The command is "gchest". * You can drop spots of "Any Colour You Like" (Pink Floyd 8c) for 1 SP. So you can find your way through changing mazes/dungeons. Just "gdrop yellow" in order to drop a yellow spot e.g. PROFESSIONAL EDITOR (with the 8th article) * You will get immense magic powers! The Guide will automatically store your Spell Points, if they reached the maximum level. And The Guide gives you these stored power back, if you are low on spellpoints. This means, that can conjure twice as much as normal, if you stored enough Spellpoints. * You can store ONE item in the guide. The guide will try to store this item for you, even after a shutdown (after a long time). It will cost you 40 Spellpoints for "gstore ". If you gstore something, it will vanish. You will get it back the next time when you log in. ETERNAL EDITOR (after the 15th article) * You'll get a statue in Milliways every customer HAS to admire.
