The current release is an alpha test, and is only available via email directly from me; it is buggy and incomplete, with poor documentation, and should only be looked at by those willing to have to hack and slash their way through the code. TUG! 2 IS NOT AVAILABLE VIA FTP FROM ANY SITE. There _is_ an automatic configuration scheme, but it's unlikely to be effective yet. If you do wish to be added to the list of alpha-recipients, send me mail, but be aware that new alpha testers only start getting mail when a new release is made, and not when mere patches are being distributed. Also be aware that the distribution is already quite sizeable; the current shell archives form ten 40k mail messages. Alpha testing will probably continue until easter '93; over the vacation I will attempt to get the code into shape for a beta release (which will be available by FTP) when I come back, and I'm aiming for a full release on or before mid-May '93 (I'm doing this as part of my final year project, which is due in on 4th June '93). Keep an eye out on alt.galactic-guide for announcements and information. -- Dave Gymer dpg@cs.nott.ac.uk
